Performance Art Land
Fostering site-specific performance art and cross-cultural exchanges.
Performance Art Land
Performance Art Land (PAL) is a flagship project produced by IVAE, specifically tailored in one site for domestic artists, organisations, heritage and culture, for its local communities and audiences, and also, for international world of contemporary art. Through the PAL, we are committed to support the cross-cultural and interdisciplinary communication through creative practices, to promote site-specificity and site-sustainability and stage the global situations of climate emergency and environmental issues through art practices, amplify the unheard voice, and within our artistic and curatorial innovations, ultimately, to reinterpret the history and culture of one certain site to the world.

PAL Jeju 2026
The PAL Jeju 2026 project will be closely aligned with the theme of the 5th Jeju Biennale, Iyahong: The Art of Metamorphosi. We encourage artists to collaborate closely with local residents and communities, as well as local artists or professionals, to make a contemporary performance artwork. This work will be developed, performed, and filmed in May and premiered at the 5th Jeju Biennale.

PAL Wales 2025
Focusing on Wales and its culture, PAL 2025 edition commissioned two artists respectively from China and Japan and two Welsh artists to develop new performance art works on natural and heritage sites in the region. These performances filmed for screening at PAL partner institutions in Wales — Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff and Glynn Vivian Art Gallery in Swansea, as well as at those in East Asia, including Fotografiska in Shanghai, Mori Art Museum in Tokyo, and Busan Art Museum in Busan.
