At the PAL Event Day, a panel discussion is hosted by Professor Jiang Jiehong, Artistic Director of IVAE, on the subject of “Site-specificity as A Method: New Model of Art Production through Cross-cultural Exchange”. Panel members include: Peipei Han, Director of Exhibitions, Fotografiska Shanghai; Jia Xu, Associate Professor, Fudan University; Yuling Zhang, art historian/ curator; Leo Li Chen, independent curator; and Dong Bao, curator/ art critic.
IVAE launched PAL 2025 at Fotografiska Shanghai
The non-profit art institution IVAE (International Visual Arts Exchange) launched its long-term project "Performance Art Land" (PAL) at Fotografiska in Shanghai. As a brand-new contemporary art project anchored in the core concept of "locality", PAL showcases the dialogue between local contexts and the global sphere through artistic practices and creations that intervene in natural and humanistic sites. At the launch event, guests engaged in a themed discussion on "Locality as a Method", deliberating on whether there is an urgent need for a new cross-domain production model in contemporary art today.
