An art village with historical buildings and cultural heritage

Lee Jang-woo House
This upper-class residence, distinguished by its splayed tiled roof, was originally built by Jeong Byung-ho, son of Jeong Nak-gyo, a wealthy magnate from the Gwangju area. The main house was built in 1899, and the gatehouse in 1935.

Wilson Missionary Residence
The Wilson Missionary Residence is believed to have been built in the 1920s by American missionary Dr. Robert M. Willson, who became the director of Jejungwon (now Gwangju Christian Hospital) in 1908 and carried out his missionary work as a physician. It is considered the oldest remaining Western-style residence in Gwangju.

10y Ground
10y ground is a revitalised space that was originally built in 1969 and served as a church and gymnasium before being opened as Eunseong Kindergarten in 1975. For over 50 years, it nurtured countless young children, becoming a place filled with memories and history across multiple generations.

Penguin Village
Penguin Village is located behind the Yangnim-dong Community Service Center. If you follow the penguin-shaped signposts into the narrow alley, you'll find a village from the 1970s and 80s that has been transformed into an open-air exhibition.
